Every non-circled digit on the line must be larger than the lower endpoint and smaller than the higher endpoint. If the circles contain 2 and 7, the line cells may contain only 3, 4, 5, or 6.
Do digits on a Between Line have to appear in numerical order?
No. The middle digits only need to fall within the endpoint range, so a sequence such as 5, 3, 6 can be valid between endpoints 2 and 7 if standard Sudoku rules are also satisfied.
Can a circled endpoint be the number 5?
It can, but the other endpoint and line length must leave enough eligible digits between them. For example, endpoints 5 and 9 permit only 6, 7, and 8 in the intervening line cells.
