Blind Faith

Blind Faith is found in the Gunks climbing area of New York, amid the region's quartz-conglomerate cliffs and traditional routes. A current local guidebook is important because similarly named climbs exist elsewhere in North America.

The leader must commit to a crack or corner sequence where useful holds and placements are difficult to see from below. Success depends on feeling for the next feature while maintaining tension in an awkward position.

Blind Faith is a traditional route requiring removable protection rather than fixed sport bolts. The exact rack and placement quality should be checked in current Gunks sources because historical grades alone do not describe the protection.

It shares the Gunks emphasis on technique, route reading, and committing movement, but its crack sequence is more specialized than the area's famous juggy roofs. Climbers comfortable on routes such as Bonnie's Roof may still find Blind Faith's hidden crux unusually difficult.
