Blindekuh

description Blindekuh Overview

Blindekuh is an operetta by Johann Strauss II that premiered at the Theater an der Wien in 1878. Its German title refers to blind man's buff, a traditional game in which one player is blindfolded while trying to catch others. The stage piece had a short initial run, while its overture continued to circulate as a separate orchestral work. It belongs to the late nineteenth-century Viennese operetta tradition, combining songs, dialogue, and orchestral music.
