Blue toadflax, Nuttallanthus canadensis, is a slender annual or biennial wildflower native to eastern and central North America. Its narrow stems carry small violet-blue flowers with two lips and a backward-pointing spur, giving them a form reminiscent of snapdragons. The plant commonly occurs in dry, sandy, or disturbed ground, including fields, roadsides, open woods, and dunes, and it usually flowers during spring or early summer.
