The Brainstring Original is a three-dimensional mechanical puzzle invented by Guido Lap and manufactured by Recent Toys. The puzzle consists of a spherical, faceted shell with rubber buttons or tabs protruding from multiple sides that can be pushed in and pulled out. Each tab is connected to an elastic string inside the sphere, and the objective is to maneuver the tabs to create, move, and ultimately untangle the internal knots so that no strings intersect within the clear center.
