Buried (2010)

Buried is a minimalist thriller that takes place entirely inside a coffin. Ryan Reynolds plays a truck driver kidnapped in Iraq who must use a cell phone and a lighter to escape. The film relies entirely on sound design, lighting, and the lead performance to maintain tension. It is an exercise in extreme claustrophobia and psychological pressure.

While the premise is inherently limited and the ending may frustrate some, the film is a masterclass in doing more with less. It is a stressful, focused experience that effectively traps the viewer alongside the protagonist.
