Cala Coves

description Cala Coves Overview

Cala Coves is an archaeological site and coastal inlet located on the southern coast of Menorca, Spain. The site contains over 90 artificial caves excavated into the limestone cliffs, which were primarily used as burial sites and dwellings during the Bronze and Iron Ages. A narrow path descends the steep cliffs to a small rocky beach at the bottom of the inlet. The area is an important historical record of the pre-Talayotic and Talayotic cultures that inhabited the Balearic Islands.
