The Cartier Mystery Clock is an iconic timepiece where the hands appear to float in a transparent crystal dial without any visible connection to the movement. The first of these, called the Model A, was created by clockmaker Maurice Coüet in 1913. The illusion is achieved by hiding the mechanism in the clock's frame and attaching the hands to crystal discs that rotate.
