Charles Schuchert

Charles Schuchert was an American invertebrate paleontologist who spent most of his career at Yale University, serving as chair of the geology department and director of the Peabody Museum of Natural History. He was known for his work on Paleozoic brachiopods and for producing some of the earliest comprehensive paleogeographic maps showing the distribution of ancient landmasses and seas. His textbook and maps influenced generations of paleontologists.
