description CineStill 800T Overview
help CineStill 800T FAQ
Why does CineStill 800T make lights glow red at night?
CineStill 800T is adapted from Kodak Vision3 5219-style tungsten cinema stock with the remjet backing removed for C-41 processing. Removing that anti-halation layer is what creates the distinctive red glow around bright lights.
Is CineStill 800T only for night photography?
No, but it is tungsten-balanced, so it is especially useful under artificial light at night or indoors. In daylight, many photographers use an 85 warming filter or accept the cooler blue color cast.
Can normal photo labs develop CineStill 800T?
Yes, CineStill 800T is designed for standard C-41 color negative processing, which most still-photo labs can handle. That is the practical difference from unmodified Kodak Vision3 cinema film, which normally uses ECN-2 processing.
What ISO should I rate CineStill 800T at?
Box speed is ISO 800, and that is the normal starting point for low light. Some photographers rate it around 500 or 400 for denser negatives, but that is an exposure choice rather than a different official film speed.
