Circotettix rabula, the wrangler grasshopper, is a North American band-winged grasshopper in the family Acrididae. It lives in dry, exposed habitats such as gravelly clearings, eroded soil, dry clay banks, rocky slopes, and shortgrass prairie, often near rivers or ravines. Its yellow hindwing has a dark crossband, and adults produce a sharp snapping or rattling flight sound called crepitation, used in courtship, territorial encounters, or when disturbed.
