Clos de Tart

Clos de Tart is a highly prestigious Pinot Noir wine produced in the Morey-Saint-Denis appellation of Burgundy, France. It holds the rare Grand Cru designation, which is the highest classification for vineyards in the region. The wine is celebrated for its deep complexity and powerful expression of its specific terroir.

The wine undergoes a meticulous aging process in oak barrels to develop its distinctive flavor profile. This extended oak aging imparts subtle spice notes and helps integrate the wine's natural tannins. It also enhances the vibrant red fruit and earthy flavors that are characteristic of this specific Grand Cru.

The Clos de Tart estate was owned by the Mommessin family for nearly 85 years before it was acquired by the Artémis Domaines group in 2018. Artémis Domaines is controlled by the Pinault family, who also owns other prestigious wineries like Château Latour. The vineyard itself is a monopole, meaning a single owner controls the entire Grand Cru site.

This Burgundian red is noted for its complex layers of earthy flavors mixed with bright red fruits like raspberry and cherry. As it ages, it often develops notes of forest floor, mushroom, and exotic spices. Its highly concentrated structure and deep flavor profile make it highly prized by serious wine collectors.
