The common sanddragon, Progomphus obscurus, is a North American dragonfly in the family Gomphidae, whose members are commonly called clubtails. It is associated with rivers and streams containing sandy or silty substrates, where its aquatic larvae burrow into the bottom sediment. Adults have a patterned thorax and abdomen that provide camouflage when they perch on sand, rocks, or exposed ground near flowing water.
