description CTB 1 (Abell 85) Overview

CTB 1, also catalogued as Abell 85, is a faint supernova remnant in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is associated with the high-velocity radio pulsar PSR J0002+6216, whose motion has been measured at more than 1,000 kilometers per second and traced back toward the remnant. The object is studied as an example of an old, diffuse stellar explosion and its connection with a rapidly moving neutron star.
