Custume Barracks is a military installation in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland, and serves as the headquarters of the Irish Army's 4th Western Brigade. The barracks takes its name from Sergeant Custume, who defended Athlone Bridge during the 1691 conflict. It is therefore associated with both the present-day Irish Defence Forces and the military history of Athlone and the Irish Midlands.
