The dainty sulphur, Nathalis iole, is a small butterfly in the family Pieridae found across much of the southern and western United States, Mexico, and parts of Central America. Its yellow wings carry dark markings, and the species is often seen flying close to the ground in a quick, fluttering manner. It occupies sunny, dry, and disturbed habitats, including open fields, roadsides, desert margins, and other areas with suitable host plants.
