help Den-noh Coil FAQ
What are the cyber glasses in Den-noh Coil?
The children use augmented-reality glasses called den-noh megane to see and manipulate digital layers over the real city. That makes the 2007 series feel unusually prescient for later smart-glasses and AR discussions.
Who created Den-noh Coil?
Mitsuo Iso created, wrote, and directed the series, and Madhouse produced it. It aired for 26 episodes on NHK Educational TV in 2007.
Why is Daikoku City important in Den-noh Coil?
Daikoku City is the experimental AR-heavy setting where Yasako moves and where rumors about disappearances, obsolete spaces, and illegal software circulate. The city itself works like a mystery system the children have to map.
Is Den-noh Coil connected to The Orbital Children?
They are not the same story, but both are major Mitsuo Iso science-fiction anime projects. The Orbital Children arrived much later, in 2022, and made many viewers revisit Den-noh Coil's earlier AR ideas.
