Dhurmsala is an LL6 ordinary chondrite meteorite that fell in the Kangra district of India in 1860. It is a historically significant witnessed fall that broke apart in the atmosphere, producing several recoverable stones that were collected by local residents. As an equilibrated ordinary chondrite, it contains distinct spherical chondrules embedded in a matrix that has been thermally metamorphosed. The meteorite has been extensively studied by the scientific community and is preserved in museum collections for ongoing planetary science research.
