Diary

description Diary Overview

Diary is a 2003 novel by American writer Chuck Palahniuk. It is presented through the diary entries of Misty Marie Klein, an artist living on Waytansea Island whose husband, Peter, lies in a coma after an apparent suicide attempt. The narrative combines satire, horror, and psychological mystery as Misty records the island's secrets and the pressure placed on her to create art. Its diary format gives the novel a deliberately restricted, first-person perspective.
