This World We Live In is a young-adult science-fiction novel by Susan Beth Pfeffer, first published in 2010 by Harcourt. It is the third volume in The Last Survivors series, following Life as We Knew It and The Dead and the Gone. The story returns to Miranda Evans and places her alongside characters from the earlier books as they cope with continuing social and environmental collapse after the moon is pushed closer to Earth. The novel uses diary entries as a central form and is intended for readers of post-apocalyptic fiction.
