Yes, the HD 6XX is a direct collaboration between Drop and Sennheiser that utilizes the exact same internal drivers and open-back acoustic architecture as the legendary HD 650. The primary differences are the distinctive midnight blue colorway and the significantly lower price point. They sound virtually identical to the original audiophile standard.

While you can play audio through them directly from a standard computer jack, the HD 6XX has a relatively high impedance of 300 ohms. To get the best bass response and dynamic range, it is highly recommended to use a dedicated headphone amplifier. Popular entry-level pairings include the Schiit Magni or the JDS Labs Atom Amp.

The HD 6XX ships with a proprietary 2-pin cable terminating in a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Drop conveniently includes a 1/4-inch (6.35mm) adapter in the box so you can easily connect the headphones to standard audio interfaces and stereo receivers. The cable is identical in electrical performance to the original HD 650 cable.
