Dundalk Bay is a shallow, funnel-shaped inlet on the eastern coast of Ireland. It is situated primarily in County Louth and receives the waters of several rivers, including the Castletown and the Fane. The bay features extensive mudflats and salt marshes that are exposed during low tide. Recognized for its ecological importance, it is designated as a Special Protection Area that supports large populations of migratory waterbirds.
