Can an EcoSmart ECO 27 supply two showers at once?
It may do so in a warm climate, but cold inlet water sharply reduces capacity. EcoSmart rates it at about 2.8 GPM with 40°F inlet water and 5.3 GPM with 70°F inlet water when producing 105°F water.
What breakers and wiring does the ECO 27 need?
It requires three 40-amp double-pole breakers and three runs of 8 AWG copper wire at 240 volts. EcoSmart recommends a 200-amp household electrical service.
What is inside the ECO 27?
The heater uses three separate 9 kW elements and heat exchangers for a combined 27 kW rating. Its self-modulating controls energize only the capacity needed for the current water flow and temperature.
