Ellipsocephalus is a genus of ptychopariid trilobites from the Cambrian Period. It is especially associated with Cambrian rocks of Bohemia in the Czech Republic, where the species Ellipsocephalus hoffi is a well-known fossil. The genus has a generally smooth exoskeleton and a broad, clearly segmented body typical of many early Cambrian trilobites. It is used in research and teaching concerning Cambrian marine ecosystems and trilobite evolution.
