Pseudophillipsia

description Pseudophillipsia Overview

Pseudophillipsia is a genus of phillipsiid trilobites from late Carboniferous and Permian marine rocks. Fossils attributed to the genus occur in parts of the former Tethys region, including areas of Asia. It belongs to one of the trilobite lineages that survived into the Permian, when trilobite diversity was already much lower than in earlier periods. The genus is therefore relevant to studies of late trilobite persistence and extinction.
