The Ergotech Freedom Arm is designed for monitors up to approximately 24 inches and around 20 pounds, depending on the specific model variant. You should verify your monitor's VESA mount compatibility — either 75mm x 75mm or 100mm x 100mm — and actual weight including any built-in cables before purchasing.

The Freedom Arm uses a gas-spring or mechanical-spring tension mechanism calibrated to your monitor's weight during initial setup using an adjustment screw. Once tensioned correctly, you can raise or lower the display by simply gripping the monitor and moving it, without needing an Allen wrench for day-to-day repositioning.

The Ergotech Freedom Arm ships with a C-clamp desk mount as its standard attachment method, designed to grip desk edges of a certain thickness. Some models include a grommet mount adapter for desks with pre-drilled cable management holes, but you should confirm which mounting hardware is included for your specific SKU.

The Ergotech Freedom Arm is generally not recommended for ultrawide monitors of 34 inches or larger, as the weight and extended lever arm can exceed the arm's tension range and cause sagging. Ergotech offers heavy-duty and dual-arm models better suited for larger displays.
