Fimbriated moray

description Fimbriated moray Overview

The fimbriated moray (Gymnothorax fimbriatus) is an Indo-Pacific reef eel in the family Muraenidae. It has fringed nostrils and a yellowish-green body covered with dark brown spots, features that help distinguish it from several similarly colored morays. The species lives in tropical marine habitats, where its elongated body allows it to occupy narrow reef crevices and other sheltered spaces.
