Fukuoka Castle is the ruined early modern fortress in Fukuoka, on the Japanese island of Kyushu. Kuroda Nagamasa commissioned it after the Battle of Sekigahara, and construction took place from 1601 to 1607 as the administrative center of the Fukuoka Domain. Also called Maizuru Castle, the site retains stone walls, gates, turrets, and foundations within Maizuru Park and is designated a National Historic Site of Japan.
