Galway Cathedral, formally the Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and Saint Nicholas, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Galway, Ireland. It was constructed on the site of the former city jail and dedicated in 1965. Its stone exterior, large dome, rose windows, and mixture of Renaissance, Romanesque, and Gothic influences distinguish it from many other twentieth-century Irish churches.
