Gamera: Super Monster

description Gamera: Super Monster Overview

Gamera: Super Monster is a 1980 Japanese kaiju film from Daiei and the eighth and final entry in the Showa-era Gamera series. Because of the studio's financial difficulties, much of the film consists of stock footage from earlier Gamera pictures, assembled around a new story involving a schoolboy and alien women sent to destroy the monster. Directed by Kazuki Omori, it served as the farewell to the original franchise incarnation, and no new Gamera film appeared until the 1995 reboot Gamera: Guardian of the Universe.
