George Low

description George Low Overview

George Low was an Austrian-born American aerospace engineer and NASA manager. He served as the manager of the Apollo Spacecraft Program Office, where he was instrumental in directing the Apollo program's recovery after the 1967 Apollo 1 fire. Low later became NASA's Deputy Administrator from 1969 to 1976, overseeing the agency's transition into the Space Shuttle era. Following his time at NASA, he served as the president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) until his death.
