Glikson

description Glikson Overview

Glikson is an eroded impact structure in the Little Sandy Desert of Western Australia. Geological studies describe a roughly 19 km diameter zone of deformed Neoproterozoic sedimentary rocks, with shatter cones and planar microstructures in quartz supporting an impact origin. Its ring-shaped aeromagnetic anomaly helped reveal the structure, which was named in honor of geologist Andrew Glikson.
