description Lawn Hill Overview
Lawn Hill is an eroded meteorite impact structure in northwestern Queensland, Australia, about 250 km north of Mount Isa. It appears at the surface as a ring of deformed Cambrian carbonate rocks around a central area of older Proterozoic sedimentary rocks, with an exposed diameter of roughly 18 to 20 km. The structure is also studied because the Century zinc-lead deposit lies near its margin and because the rocks preserve impact-related deformation and melt.
