The Gloster Javelin was a twin-engine, all-weather interceptor aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF). Entering service in 1956, it holds the distinction of being the UK's first purpose-built, jet-powered all-weather interceptor. Designed with a distinctive delta wing and a high-mounted T-tail, the aircraft was crewed by a pilot and a radar navigator.
