description Godwi Overview

Godwi oder Das steinerne Bild der Mutter is a novel by Clemens Brentano, published in two parts in 1801 and 1802. Written largely in epistolary form, it combines letters with embedded narratives, songs, and other interruptions, giving the work a deliberately fragmented structure. The novel is associated with German Romanticism and remains Brentano's only novel.
