Grosstarock

description Grosstarock Overview

Grosstarock, also called Großtarock or German Taroc, is an old three-player trick-taking game in the Tarock family. The classical form uses the complete 78-card Tarot pack, including 21 permanent trumps and the Fool, and emerged in German-speaking Europe during the eighteenth century. It is distinct from the later Viennese Grosstarock, which uses a shorter 54-card pack; the related Danish game Tarok preserves the full-pack tradition.
