Discovered in 2016 through transit observations, it has an orbital period of about 29.8 days and a radius roughly three times that of Earth. Its orbit is strongly misaligned with the star's equatorial plane and is often described as nearly polar, contrasting with the much shorter, more aligned orbit of the system's inner planet HD 3167 b.
