description Heaviside's Dolphin Overview
Heaviside's dolphin (Cephalorhynchus heavisidii) is a small marine dolphin in the family Delphinidae. It occurs in the cold coastal waters of the Benguela Current, with records from Angola, Namibia and South Africa, and is also known as the Benguela dolphin or South African dolphin. John Edward Gray described the species in 1828, and it is assessed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List.
