description Hindhead White Horse Overview
The Hindhead White Horse was a chalk figure at Combe Head near Hindhead in Surrey, England. The geoglyph depicted a horse and could be seen from Gibbet Hill from about 1909 until it was covered by heath after 1939. It is therefore a lost landscape figure rather than a surviving monument that can be viewed in its original form. Its history belongs to the local tradition of chalk hill figures in southern England.
