Can I still buy or register HitFilm Pro?

No new FXhome registrations are available, and the FXhome website was taken down in January 2025. HitFilm is therefore a discontinued editor rather than a currently supported purchase.

Will an existing HitFilm Pro installation keep working?

Some already activated legacy installations may continue to run, but future activation, downloads, and compatibility are uncertain because FXhome services have closed. Existing users should preserve their installer, license records, and exported project assets.

Why did filmmakers use HitFilm Pro instead of a normal video editor?

HitFilm combined a nonlinear editing timeline with layer-based compositing, particle effects, chroma keying, 3D model import, and motion tracking. That single-program workflow distinguished it from using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects as separate applications.
