Homalonotus

description Homalonotus Overview

Homalonotus is a genus of trilobites known from Silurian and Devonian marine rocks. Its members had a relatively smooth, flattened exoskeleton and an elongated thorax, features that distinguish the genus from many more strongly ornamented trilobites. Homalonotus fossils are particularly associated with European geological deposits and are useful for studying the diversity and distribution of the phacopid trilobites.
