description Icy Bay Overview
Icy Bay is a remote body of water located on the southeastern coast of Alaska, situated within the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. The bay was largely formed during the 20th century due to the rapid retreat of tidal glaciers flowing from the adjacent Bagley Icefield. Its cold waters are characterized by floating glacial ice and provide access to some of the highest coastal mountain ranges in North America.
