Inverness Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew, is a Scottish Episcopal cathedral on the River Ness in Inverness, Scotland. Designed by local architect Alexander Ross in a Victorian Gothic style, it had its foundation stone laid in 1866, opened for worship in 1869, and was formally consecrated in 1874 after construction debts were paid. It was the first cathedral fully built and consecrated in Great Britain since the Reformation. The cathedral serves the Scottish Episcopal community in the Highlands and is also known for its historic ring of bells.
