Ishikari Plain

description Ishikari Plain Overview

The Ishikari Plain is a broad alluvial lowland in western Hokkaido, Japan, formed mainly by the Ishikari River and its tributaries. It includes much of the area around Sapporo and is one of Hokkaido's principal agricultural regions, producing crops such as rice. The plain combines intensely used farmland, wetlands, river channels, and major urban infrastructure within the island's largest river basin.
