Jacqueline K. Barton (born 1952) is an American chemist and the Arthur and Marian Hanisch Memorial Professor of Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology. Her research demonstrated that DNA mediates long-range charge transport through its π-stacked base pairs, functioning as a molecular wire. She developed transition-metal complexes, particularly of ruthenium and rhodium, that bind to DNA and serve as probes for detecting base mismatches and structural lesions.

Barton was elected to the National Academy of Sciences and received the National Medal of Science in 2011.
