description Jumpers Overview

Jumpers is a play by Tom Stoppard that premiered in 1972. Set in a satirical near-future Britain, it follows philosophy professor George Moore as he struggles with questions of morality, knowledge, and the existence of God while a murder is investigated in his home. The play combines philosophical argument with farce, political parody, and the spectacle of a team of acrobatic academic philosophers known as the Jumpers.
