K2 Mindbender 99

The K2 Mindbender 99ti features a Titanal Y-Beam construction that places dense metal directly underfoot and extends it toward the edges, drastically increasing edge hold on firm snow. This stiffer platform allows expert riders to carve aggressively on hardpack without the ski chattering at high speeds. The 99mm waist width provides a perfect balance between quick turn initiation and stability.

While it is an exceptional all-mountain ski, the 99mm waist width is slightly narrow for true bottomless powder days. It incorporates K2's All-Terrain Rocker, a subtle rise in the tip, which helps it float through variable terrain and choppy snow. However, for resorts that receive massive snowfall, many riders upgrade to the Mindbender 106ti for superior buoyancy.

The Mindbender 99ti is specifically engineered with a very stiff flex profile tailored for advanced and expert riders who want to charge hard. The heavy use of metal laminates requires significant physical input and speed to properly flex the ski into a carve. Intermediate riders might find these skis overly demanding and exhausting, and would be better suited for the softer Mindbender 99c carbon version.

When purchased as a flat system, the K2 Mindbender 99ti is often paired with the Marker Griffon 13 ID bindings. This is a highly durable, freeride binding with a DIN scale that goes up to 13, perfectly matching the aggressive performance level of the ski. Skiers often mount them flat to customize the binding position based on their specific boot sole length.
