Kitaro Kosaka is a Japanese animator, animation director, and director whose career includes extensive work with Studio Ghibli and the Japanese animation studio Madhouse. He contributed key animation to numerous productions directed by Hayao Miyazaki, including Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away. He directed the 2018 animated feature Okko's Inn, adapted from the children's novel by Hiroko Reijō. Kosaka has also worked on character design and animation direction for the long-running Chibi Maruko-chan television series.
