The Laotian Revolution refers to the 1975 seizure of power by the communist Pathet Lao during the Laotian Civil War. With support from North Vietnam, the movement ended the Royal Lao Government and led to the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The revolution formed part of the wider communist victories in Indochina during 1975 and transformed Laos from a monarchy into a one-party socialist state.
