description Little Karoo Overview
The Little Karoo, also known as the Klein Karoo, is a semi-arid valley situated in the Western Cape of South Africa. It is geographically enclosed by the Swartberg Mountains to the north and the Langeberg and Outeniqua mountain ranges to the south. Historically, the region has been recognized for large-scale ostrich farming, particularly around the town of Oudtshoorn, which drove its late 19th and early 20th-century economy.
